1972

FOUNDED AMERICAN NATIONAL WATERMATTRESS CORPORATION

The Legacy starts here. Our first product was a waterbed - and our first lesson was that people care deeply about how their bed feels.

JULY 1977

ORANGE, CALIFORNIA

American National Manufacturing. A new name, a growing company, and the same family determination to make sleep better.

JULY 1986

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA

We headed west. Our new Anaheim, California facility marked a milestone in our growth - more capacity, same family standards.

1987

OUR SMART BED PROTOTYPE

The moment everything changed. We combined an air chamber with a dial controller and created something the world had never seen - firmness you could actually control. We called it Intelligent Air Technology. The adjustable mattress was born.

1995-2001

FLOTATION AIR 1000 AND 2000 AIR BEDS BY AMERICAN NATIONAL

Our first widely sold adjustable air beds. Two sides, two settings, one bed that finally worked for both sides of the bed.

1999

The name that would define us made its debut. Instant Comfort launched alongside our Nautilus line, and by 2005 more than 55,000 had been sold - all designed and manufactured by American National.

2000-2002

THREE ZONED AIR BED BY AMERICAN NATIONAL SOLD

The next leap forward. Our three-zone air bed gave sleepers something entirely new - the ability to customize firmness from head to toe, all in one mattress.
